Practical strategies for analysing, structuring and writing EPSO Written Test answers.

This live webinar gives you a practical framework for tackling Written Tests in EPSO and EU competitions where source material is provided in advance. You’ll learn how to analyse the assignment and source material, identify and prioritise the most relevant information, structure a clear and well-focused response, and write concisely under time pressure.
Using practical examples and exercises based on common Written Test tasks, Ruth will show you how these techniques work in practice, including how to plan your answer efficiently, manage your time and avoid the mistakes that commonly cost candidates marks.
You’ll also learn how to build a stock of useful “mental baggage”: structures, approaches, phrases and drafting tools that you can draw on quickly during the test. This means spending less time working out how to tackle the task and more time focusing on what the assignment is asking you to do, selecting the right information and producing a clear, concise and fit-for-purpose answer.
This webinar is designed for candidates preparing for EPSO or EU competitions where the Written Test source material is provided in advance.
It is suitable both for candidates who are new to this type of Written Test and want a clear methodology to follow, and for those who already have some experience but want to improve the structure, clarity, relevance and efficiency of their responses.
Important: this webinar is not designed for internal competitions or other Written Test formats where candidates do not receive the source material beforehand.
The webinar is specifically designed for Written Tests where candidates receive the source material in advance and can prepare by familiarising themselves with the material before the test.
Within this format, the webinar teaches transferable skills including understanding the assignment, analysing source material, identifying and prioritising relevant information, structuring a response and writing clearly under time pressure.
It is not intended for internal competitions or other Written Test formats where the test works differently or where source material is not provided beforehand.
If your competition has a specific Written Test format, we recommend checking the Notice of Competition and combining this theoretical webinar with one of our competition-specific webinars when available.
After the webinar, you should have a clearer and more systematic approach to tackling Written Test assignments. You’ll be better equipped to understand what the assignment is asking you to do, work efficiently with source material you have received in advance, identify and prioritise the most relevant information, plan your response and produce a clear, focused answer within the available time.
You should also have a stronger set of reusable structures, approaches and drafting tools that you can draw on quickly when the test begins.
No. This is our theoretical Written Test webinar, designed to teach the core skills and techniques that can be applied across EPSO and EU competitions that use the relevant Written Test format and provide source material in advance.
We will also offer separate competition-specific webinars for selected upcoming competitions. These sessions will focus more closely on the requirements, source material and preparation strategy for that particular competition.
Candidates preparing for internal competitions or other Written Test formats should check whether the webinar format matches their specific test before purchasing.
